Stephen Saylor
President & CEO
Mr. Saylor’s career spans over 20 years of emerging technology development and commercialization. Prior to joining SiOnyx, he served as a Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing for Adobe Systems where he managed Adobe’s award-winning digital video product line. Mr. Saylor joined Adobe from FlashPoint Technology, a digital imaging company he co-founded with a team from Apple Computer, which they built into one of the most prolific licensing firms to serve the consumer digital photography industry. In his early career, Mr. Saylor held a variety of technology management, marketing and engineering roles with Apple, Polaroid and Technicare Corporation. Mr. Saylor holds a BSEE from Northeastern University.
John Ziolkowski
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Ziolkowski brings more than 15 years of financial and operational experience to SiOnyx. Most recently, he served as CFO of VisEn Medical, a leading molecular imaging company acquired by PerkinElmer in 2010. In this role, Mr. Ziolkowski oversaw all aspects of operations, finance, legal and human resource management. Prior to that position, he was CFO and Treasurer at Axsun Technologies, Inc., a market-leading optoelectronic instrumentation manufacturer. Mr. Ziolkowski joined Axsun from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he advised a cross section of technology companies as a manager in the Technology Practice of the Audit and Business Advisory Services Group. Mr. Ziolkowski holds a B.A. in Economics/Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross and is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Allen Lam
VP of Operations and Quality
With extensive experience in the semiconductor industry, Mr. Lam is responsible for all operations, supply chain management, purchasing, planning and logistics, packaging and manufacturing engineering, IT support and quality functions for SiOnyx. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Lam served as a Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Quality for Advanced Analogic Technologies, Inc. (AATI) where he grew the operations from a pre-revenue start-up to a $100M+ publicly traded company. Mr. Lam’s early career included quality and reliability, product qualification, failure analysis, and package development with Vishay-Siliconix. Mr. Lam holds 12 patents in semiconductor packaging. He graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Applied Science.
Dr. Homayoon Haddad
VP of Device Engineering
Dr. Haddad joined SiOnyx from MagnaChip Semiconductor where he served as VP of Advanced Sensor & Pixel Development. He managed the development of 2.2, 1.7, and 1.4 um pixel technologies and released the first 1.75 um color BSI sensor in 2007. Prior to joining MagnaChip, Dr. Haddad worked with Hewlett Packard and Agilent from 1984 -2006 where he held a variety of technology management and engineering roles and was responsible for releasing several sensor and pixel technologies. Dr. Haddad holds a BSEE, MSEE, and Ph.D from Oregon State University.
Dr. Martin Pralle
VP of Business Development
In his role as VP of Business Development for SiOnyx, Dr. Pralle is helping to deliver next generation silicon-based optoelectronic technologies to military and other government applications. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Pralle served as General Manager of the ICx Technologies Photonics business unit. As VP of Engineering at ICx Technologies, he developed photonic crystal MEMS infrared emitter and sensor technology that was deployed to solve critical combat identification needs in the thermal imaging bands. Dr. Pralle holds a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BS from Cornell University, both in Materials Science and Engineering.
Dr. James Carey
Principal Scientist & Co-Founder
Dr. Carey is an expert in optical physics and the interaction of materials with ultrashort laser pulses. Dr. Carey played a key role in the discovery of the unique optoelectronic properties of pulsed laser microstructured silicon, the study of which formed the basis for his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard and led to the founding of SiOnyx. Dr. Carey is an author of over 20 papers and conference proceedings, a named inventor on 12 US and international patents, and has presented at numerous international conferences. Dr. Carey also holds a BSE from the University of Michigan.
